Day 1
After our long drive from the desert our first mission is of course to hit the sand.
Right away our lil artist nugget drew a picture of me in the tent taking pictures with the ipad. lol :o
Kir didn't know I snuck and bought us a boogie board so he was all over that action.
Agh, the sounds of waves crashing and kids giggling over it, whats not to love to about that combinations of sounds.
Then some playing in the sand time before Kir and I played frisbee for a little bit.
and not too long later a dolphin went by. How cool is that?!
Then we headed down to check out the surfers clustered near the rocks.
n this guy obviously surfs rainbows
Next we went to dinner down the road n this was our view. What a shame, I know.
While we were eating some blow holes keep blow holin it up.
That night the kids obviously out partied us and stayed up getting chip wasted.
Day 2 was a big day filled with...
Strollin the Santa Monica farmers market
to spend our money on yummy freshness
to end up with oodles of fruit.
Yup, this about sums it up.
Next we took the kids to see good ole Venice Beach which this about sums that place up in 6 seconds. lol
Venice is always filled with street performers, but these ones made a much bigger deal out of theirs then the usual. They were Caribbean's talking about peace and unity while making fun of every other race, (o.O) as they were hyping up the crowd to do a flip over 10 people. You can see it for about a milla second at the end.
After this we headed up to the La Brea tar pits because I knew my boys would LOVE seeing it: the working scientist, the fossils, the active tar pits- totally a perfect little boy experience.
I mean look at this tar bubble that dates back to ancient times and is still actively sitting in the midst of one of Americas biggest. I think thats pretty friggen neato.
Then it was out to dinner for a six courser that Kir had wanted to try.
Some things were a hit and others no so much, but more for me because Im a lil on the picky side. I will tell you this though, if I like everything, the place mUST be phenomenal.

Day 3
The next day we did we went to the Vans U.S Open Surf Competition
and I totally had to make my first gif for this set. lol :o
The main focus of the competition this day was to walk to the end of your board and back.
...and then this happened (my second gif experience, lol)
After the competition we drover over to Santa Monica to watch the sunset before heading up to take the boys to see the Hollywood stars.
and fucking look at that!! It was an unforgettably beautiful sunset.
Day 4
This day was an exhausting day filled with universal studios fun.
We road every ride, took the tour of the studio lot to see where many things where filmed, and even saw the real scooby bus..
That was one of those days you know your kids will never forget and I love that.
Day 5
Day five was all about us adults and really the reason we went - to go see a Reggae show with Anthony B and Pato Banton in Topanga Canyon.
And an old college friend met us there which made it even better.
I love reggae shows, its not about judging each other and all that other petty nonsense that comes with much of life, but just about feeling the vibe and enjoying the moment, and everyone else is there to do the same.
even the kids were totally rockin out and involved
well, except mines. mines were sleeping hats that wanted nothing to do with it. :o
But seriously, Im sure these two see judgements all over, but not where people be jamming. The important things of life shine through at reggae fests, like love, happiness unity, and culture.
If your one to judge someone for looking like this or taking their kid to a reggae fest, try reevaluating your perspective.
I just quickly have to point out that dude had a couch. Not sure how he pulled that off, but its kinda impressive.
After that lovely long hot day we went to end the day with a sunset before saying good bye to Jeanetta.
Oh yeah, and Im totally guna plug this little shop I hit up in Topanga that I scored these puppies at. It was called Home Grown, it was super cute, and the prices were super reasonable. If you happen to head through there ever, check em out.
Last Day
On our last day before we headed out we stopped by the Melrose flea market for me....
and then took Kir to finally try something he has wanted to try his whole life...
During which our kids payed little attention to because that took over this awesome anandoned sand castle.
That was that, bye bye ocean and back to the desert.
What a super awesome, exhaustingly fun filled trip it was though!
